Duke North Carolina Tickets
The Blue Devils have many rivals on the hardwood, and no doubt fans are eagerly awaiting their Duke North Carolina tickets for this season's upcoming match-ups between the two schools. The Blue Devils and the Tar Heels have played each other many times throughout the years, and it always turns out to be a fierce game. The two schools have met 212 times, with North Carolina holding a 122-90 edge in the all-time series. But throw the numbers out. If you don't follow college basketball, you can't imagine how big this battle of in-state and Atlantic Coast Conference rivals truly is. In fact, in a February 2005 column, ESPN broadcaster Dick Vitale called it the greatest rivalry in college sports. "There are so many great rivalries, but in basketball no rivalry matches North Carolina vs. Duke," Vitale wrote. "Just consider the intensity and emotion involved when these two ACC powers hook up. There is nothing like it, since these schools are separated by just eight miles. There is so much passion invested in these two programs, and when they meet everyone goes bananas."
Duke North Carolina Tickets: The Rivalry's Greatest Games
All of the people who have been fortunate enough to purchase Duke North Carolina tickets over the years have seen some of the greatest games in NCAA basketball history. There was the 1974 game called the "Miracle In Chapel Hill," in which North Carolina trailed by eight points with just 17 seconds left in the game, and somehow managed to tie the game by the end of regulation. They won 96-92 in overtime. In 1984, the Tar Heels and Blue Devils played a 2OT thriller, won by Carolina 96-83, but a week later Duke got their revenge by bouncing the Heels in the ACC Tournament in another classic. In 1995, the two teams scored a combined 202 points -- the highest in the history of the rivalry -- and played another double overtime affair as North Carolina edged Duke 102-100 in what many call the greatest game ever played between the two schools.
