However, courtesy of clothing manufacturer Hanes, in association with Verizon Wireless, ISP Sports and Pages Screen Printing, 5,000 Wake Forest fans were given free black-and-gold WF Basketball T-shirts. Not only was it an intelligent promotional tactic for Hanes and the other companies, but it was also a ploy to get the fans fired up and to help the players seize and keep momentum. Did it work? Wake Forest upset the then third ranked Blue Devils by the score of 90-84, so apparently the answer is yes. Perhaps the Cameron Crazies should try something like this the next time the Deacons come to Durham?
